Rainbow deep-Six(ed) … ?
Nearly three years ago Vegas 2 was released; don’t hold your breath for Vegas 3. Although the game itself received mostly positive reviews many (including myself and Marauder) quickly turned their back on the game due to its incredibly frustrating Terrorist Hunt mode, which in my opinion was its primary downfall (along with its weak SP story and incredibly stupid AI). I guess Ubisoft was attempting to make the game more “realistic”. Well, if they were shooting for realism they missed the mark by about 300 miles because let me just say this, nothing, NOTHING was more frustrating than completely clearing a room, then spinning around to a P90 aimed down your throat only seconds later… Where did he come from? Why didn’t I hear him? Who knows, who cares. For me this was the game’s only replay value, and they botched it to the point where I simply uninstalled the game and refused to acknowledge its existence until now.
The meat and potatoes of this rant/post is that through some random Wikipedia browsing I came across an interesting article posted on Interinactive.com which further angered me because I had to agree with everything that was written. It saddens me that a once elite franchise was reduced to a mainstream FPS action game, void of anything unique its predecessors possessed.

Le sigh. Stupid terrorist hunt mode. I still play Rainbox 6 Raven Shield Terrorist Hunt even now and when did that come out? 2003. I’ve been playing it on a somewhat regular basis since then.

And yet Vegas… there’s no point. That random spawn garbage totally ruined what’s supposed to be a semi realistic squad based shooter. In real life, terrorists don’t teleport in behind you… Well, not yet anyway.
