Introduction
So what do you
get for yourself when you've exhausted all possible system upgrades?
What do you do if you find your overclocked system or video hardware
still runs too hot despite the purchase of high end chip cooling system
? Do you travel to many LAN events for fame and fortune ? Perhaps you
feal the need to pamper the guts of your brand new power PC by wraping
it up in something different? Or maybe you're the kinda person that
just has to have the best of everything. If you fit any of thease categories
then the Wind Tunnel II just may be for you.
It's nothing new to take a case and hop it up. Geeks like us have been
doing it for years and finally the market is beginning to open up for
companies to commercially sell pre-made custom cases. The differences
between a do it yourself and a professionally made product may not seem
like much, but believe me when I say there is no comparison unless you
take a lot of time and effort with it as I'll explain.
In our tests, we will put the Coolerguys Wind Tunnel II Gamer up against
a custom case by yours truly. All this time I thought my case was pretty
darned good for cooling, but it falls short in many ways to this pro
made piece. We will do some overclocking of both CPU and video and see
just what kind of improvements, if any, we get with an out of the box
custom case for our hard earned dollar.
